History of Flagler Beach

This is a great journey of
discovery, one begun by Henry Morrison Flagler, a Florida
entrepreneur of the late 19th century who opened the area to
pioneers when he built the first railroad on the eastern
seaboard of Florida.
The decades of slow, steady growth have allowed planners to
ensure that Flagler County’s environment has been
preserved for all to enjoy. In 1994, Flagler County was
named the fastest growing county in the United States from
1980 to 1990. Strict planning has made certain that the high
quality of living has been maintained for future
generations, too.
