1. Ignition switch loose tightened  and tested satisfactory
2. Shifter and throttle cables  replaced and tested sat
3. New Fuel Tank sending unit (in tank) and gauge (on console)  INSTALLED and tested 6-20-2010
4. Installed gauge to check battery condition and charging system INSTALLED and tested 6-20-2010

PLYWOOD DECK REMOVAL

The plywood sections had been fiberglassed in years past.

Areas of the plywood are rotten.
The boat is an early 60's model so after @ 45 years it is time for rotten wood.

I was able to get the plywood out intact. 
I will be able to use the existing pieces as a pattern and that will be good.

I have not removed the ALUMINUM center console yet.
It sits on and is bolted through the plywood to the aluminum supports under the plywood.

I am cleaning the bilges. (just like old times as a BT in the Navy)

I removed the "OLD" and "NASTY" pieces of Styrofoam from the bilge areas.

To remove the console, I have to disconnect:
steering
gear shift / throttle
Electrical supply (12 volt) and grounding connection
Fuel fill hose (fill cap on top of console)
Fuel vent line (up to top right side of console)

Unbolt the console and remove.
Remove LAST PIECE of plywood.

The built in fuel tank is BELOW the console area.

I removed the Battery
